Financial Incentives

The Local Investment Fund (FLI) wishes to stimulate local entrepreneurship by promoting access to capital for start-up (or growth) of traditional and social economy businesses as well as supporting entrepreneurship renewal. The FLI also provides support for working capital and investment needs aimed at stabilizing and reviving high-performance businesses located in the Haut-Richelieu RCM. To achieve its mission, the FLI must be proactive in the economy key sectors. Its actions will prioritize investments that would generate sustainable jobs and have a ripple effect on the economy.

• Offer a complementary financing tool in line with the development vision.
• Promote the start-up, expansion and succession of businesses, including those in the social economy, located in the Haut-Richelieu RCM.
• Support successful companies that are experiencing financial difficulties due to the economic situation.

The City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu has implemented a tax credit program to attract new industries and support business growth in its territory. The credit is applicable in the context of the construction of a new building, the expansion of an existing structure or leasehold improvements following a relocation within the city limits. In such cases, the tax credit may be up to 100%.
