Demography and territory
The Municipalité régionale de comté du Haut-Richelieu is composed of 14 municipalities. The entire territory covers a total area of 999.7 km2 and offers a very diversified panorama. The population of the MRC is 123,891.

Transportation
To facilitate your travel in the municipality of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and to and/or from Montreal, several public transit routes exist. A Taxibus system is also available to complement the city bus service.
Sports and leisure activities
The Service des loisirs et bibliothèques de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu offers more than 300 sports, cultural, outdoor and community workshops spread over four activity sessions. The presence of 150 organizations enhances the offer of activities and recreational opportunities. Rural municipalities also have a recreation department.
